Who we are
Midlands Helping Hand is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) based in Birmingham. Our charitable object is the relief of financial hardship for people living in the West Midlands by making grants of money for essential items, services, or facilities.

For essential items, services, or facilities that relieve hardship.

Eligibility
Individuals or families who live in the West Midlands and are experiencing financial hardship.
(We may ask for simple evidence like proof of address and a quote/receipt.)
Safeguarding & Fairness
We use proportionate checks, manage conflicts of interest, and record decisions for transparency.

Operating in/for the West Midlands.
Good governance and proportionate financial controls.
What we fund
Essentials for people in hardship (white goods, beds, energy support).
Advice/outreach that directly reduces financial hardship.
Project costs, small capital items, and proportionate core costs.
No party‑political activity; activity must primarily benefit West Midlands residents.
Grant sizes
Standard: £500 – £5,000
Major Impact: £10,000 – £50,000 (exceptional cases)
Multi‑year considered where impact and governance are strong.

Complaints
We acknowledge within 5 working days and aim to resolve within 20. Serious concerns can be raised with the Charity Commission.

We record and manage conflicts; trustees are sole voting members.
Internal Financial Controls
Dual authorisation; records retained for audit.
Reserves
Proportionate reserves policy to meet obligations and plan grants responsibly.
